Mindfulness Meditation Workshop

A one day workshop teaching Mindfulness Meditation skills will take place in Asanté Therapy Centre, Drogheda on Sunday 19th February 2012. The workshop will be facilitated by experienced meditation teacher and therapist Eileen McCarney. The cost of the workshop is just €60 (including lunch) and the day will begin at 10am finishing at 4pm.

During the workshop you will learn a wide variety of meditation exercises which may help you with the following:

  • Developing greater self awareness
  • Increased ability to manage stress
  • Improving your physical and psychological health
  • Reducing anxiety and depression
  • Reducing tension, anger and fatigue
  • Enhancing relationships
  • Increasing your vitality

Loving Kindness Courses

These courses explore the richness and depth of the Loving-Kindness meditation practice, which teaches us how to develop kindness and compassion towards ourselves and others, opening our hearts and dissolving the barriers we have built around ourselves. We learn to become more aware of our emotions and our emotional responses, gradually re-orienting ourselves to more positive mental and emotional states.
Some of the benefits of doing the Loving Kindness practice are:
- more at ease with oneself
- better able to relate to others
- more emotionally resilient
- less overwhelmed by suffering of others

The course is suitable for beginners to meditation as well as to more experienced meditators

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – 8 week courses

Learn ways of bringing an increased level of calmness to your life, by developing the skills of awareness and kindness to yourself and others. Mindfulness will help you access your inner stillness and innate wisdom.

Mindful Eating – one-day and weekend workshops

Do you constantly struggle with your weight?

Would you like to have or to develop a healthier relationship to food and eating?

Mindful Eating helps us to develop more awareness around our negative   eating patterns and behaviours. The tools and techniques you will  learn  on this workshop will enable you to make healthier food choices  and to  rediscover the pleasure of eating without guilt.
The course includes:

  • Ways of identifying healthy and unhealthy hunger and fullness signals.
  • Bringing awareness to recurring unhealthy eating habits.
  • Simple breathing and body awareness exercises.
  • How thoughts and moods shape food choices.
  • Ways of developing kindness and compassion towards ourselves and our bodies.

Weekly drop-in meditation session, Tuesdays
