“Living Well with Pain & Illness”

This eight week programme offers a wide range of mindfulness skills to ease the suffering associated with persistent pain, fatigue and ill health, and the stress that often arises as a result. Each week on this eight week course you will learn new strategies and approaches within a warm and friendly group setting.

The course will take place in Asante Counselling Centre, Drogheda, see www.asantecounselling.com  for more information. It will commence on Monday 12th September and take place on eight consecutive two and a half hour sessions from 7 – 9.30pm

You will learn:

  • Training in how to manage pain, illness and fatigue in daily life
  • Breath awareness
  • Body awareness and relaxation
  • Gentle mindful movement
  • Mindfulness meditation practice, including cultivating kindliness towards yourself and empathy for others

Who is the course for?

Breathworks now runs programmes in many countries including England, Germany and Sweden. People who have found the programme helpful so far include those with chronic back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, post-operative pain, cancer, multiple sclerosis, M.E., neuropathies, Parkinson’s disease, and many other types of pain and illness.

What does the course cost?

The course costs €300 which includes manuals, cd’s and a one day workshop on Saturday 5th November (to be confirmed).

Weekly drop-in meditation session, Tuesdays

1.  If you have completed a Breathworks course, you can attend a weekly drop-in session on Tuesdays, led by Aksobhin Tracy.The evening starts with a meditation, and follows with a led discussion about meditation and/or Buddhism. Continue reading
